FAQ

As part of our remapping service, when the vehicle enters our workshop, we carry out a number of preliminary checks before giving the “all clear” for engine remapping. We will carry out a road test to confirm the vehicle does not display any drivability issues. We also complete an engine diagnostic scan to confirm engine health. If we find issues that we recommend are addressed prior to carrying out engine remapping, we will contact you with a report. These preliminary checks are included in the cost quoted for your specific vehicle.   If you haven’t been doing this already, following engine remapping it is strongly advised that you:
  • use quality fuel
  • change your vehicle’s engine oil & filter annually (at the very least)
As with any vehicle modification, you should inform your insurer of any modification to your car’s performance. Our customer feedback reports that insurance premiums frequently remain unchanged. We have, to date, never had a request to restore modified engine software to standard.   Most of the time, no. Some manufacturers may be able to tell that something has changed, but not necessarily what.     Every situation is different, but if you have a turbo-diesel, in like-for-like you should typically see an improvement in economy of upto 10%. We cannot make claims for potential economy improvements for petrol-engined vehicles, but in like-for-like use the economy should not be any worse.   Yes. All our remaps are written to remain legal and pass current MOT emission requirements.   Yes, please get in touch for details.
